What is AI-native game development?
It is building games with AI as an implementation partner while a human still owns design, architecture, and shipping decisions. AI can write the code. You still need to understand the game. The Academy teaches that judgment — not a no-code shortcut.
Is this a programming course?
It is a professional game-development program. You do not need to memorize syntax. You do need to understand loops, state, systems, testing, and release practice so you can direct AI tools and reject bad implementations.
Do I need previous coding experience?
Comfort using AI writing or coding tools is enough to start. Willingness to study systems — not only generate output — matters more than a traditional CS résumé. The Academy does not claim to mint senior engineers overnight.
Does AI write the code?
Often, yes — in an AI-native workflow the model drafts and revises a large share of implementation. That does not make the model the designer, the QA lead, or the publisher. Someone still has to specify ownership, accept or reject the patch, and ship.
Is the certificate accredited?
No. Martinez AI Studios Academy is a private professional training program. A certificate of completion, when issued after real course completion, is a private professional credential — not a university degree, college credit, or government certification.
Is the course currently open?
Yes. 170 bilingual lessons and 12 bilingual fillable resources are free on this site. LMS accounts, progress, and certificates stay closed. Optional Stripe support does not gate lessons or downloads. The curriculum map is 5 stages and 78 modules.
Do I need to pay to read the lessons?
No. The 170 lessons and 12 fillable resources are free. Stripe support is optional: you choose the amount (the checkout suggests $10). It does not unlock extra text or downloads. LMS accounts and certificates stay closed. A confirmation URL is not proof of payment.
Is CONTRABAND a real case study?
Yes. CONTRABAND: Edge of the Fold is a commercial Steam game created by Dero Lavigne and published by Martinez AI Studios. Academy postmortems are published only when an incident can be evidenced. They are not toy examples and they do not invent sales figures.
Who is Dero Lavigne?
Dero Lavigne is the instructor for Martinez AI Studios Academy and the developer of CONTRABAND. He directs the work; Martinez AI Studios publishes it. The Academy teaches from that process. His portfolio is derolavigne.com — not a second Academy platform.
What does Martinez AI Studios Academy provide?
An education platform owned by Martinez AI Studios: 170 free bilingual flagship lessons, 12 free bilingual fillable resources, verified CONTRABAND case studies, and instructor context. LMS accounts, progress, and private certificates remain closed. It does not provide university credit, job placement, or Steam-success guarantees.
