3D asset library: organize GLB models, images and videos

The useful asset is not always the newest one. It is the one you can find, recognise and continue working on when an idea arrives.

Organize around a creative decision

A folder containing hundreds of numbered exports tells you very little about what each file is for. Give related files a shared subject name and a meaningful suffix: reference, source, review or presentation. Keep experimental versions distinguishable from the version you intend to show.

Workshop brings GLB, PNG, JPG and MP4 files into a visual library. Adding folders and optional subfolders is useful when the structure is already sensible. Search and media filters then become shortcuts instead of a substitute for naming.

References are not backups

Library entries refer to files on your computer. Moving or removing a source outside the application can make a previous reference unavailable. Keep important assets in a stable project location and copy material out of temporary download folders before beginning serious work.

Clearing the Workshop library list removes references rather than deleting the source files. That is useful for changing projects, but it is not a storage cleanup tool. If your disk is full, review the actual folders separately and preserve the originals you still need.

  1. Keep an originals folder with unchanged source assets.
  2. Store edited copies separately from your sources.
  3. Use a presentation folder for approved images and videos.
  4. Back up the whole project, not only its latest MP4.

Connect the image, model and finished clip

Keep the visual reference near the resulting model. When an AI-generated asset differs from the intended design, that comparison helps you decide whether to change the prompt, choose another source image or edit the model. A filename alone cannot preserve that context.

An exported video is another useful reference: it records the composition you liked. Keep enough context to reproduce it, including which model variant was used and what changed in the next iteration. Workshop supports up to three open creative tasks to keep related work together.

Make a collection manageable

Import one project first and check that the names and folders remain understandable a day later. Then add larger collections. If several files look identical, inspect the model before choosing the one with the largest size or latest timestamp.

A good library reduces repeated decisions. You spend less time opening the wrong asset and more time inspecting, configuring or presenting the right one. This workflow works with existing files and does not require paid AI generation.

Turn a collection of exports into a workspace where the next creative step is easy to find.
