Why is my GLB animation not playing?
First check whether the exported file actually contains an animation clip. A textured model and a skeleton alone do not prove that a playable action was included. Select an available clip, resume playback and inspect the complete model. A paused viewer or an action with very little visible movement can look like a broken file.
If no clip is listed, return to the source application and check its animation export settings. If a clip is present but deforms the model incorrectly, compare the same file in the source tool and the target viewer. Preserve a copy before changing the rig. Camera auto-rotation cannot repair missing skeletal animation.
Three kinds of movement
An embedded clip can animate bones, transforms or supported shape changes. A skeletal flight animation changes the relationship between the wings, body and tail. A scene transform moves or rotates the whole model. Camera movement changes your viewpoint without modifying the asset.
The Workshop web gallery labels embedded clips and presentation motion separately. Its dragon, Bastion and hen examples let you see articulated movement. The four spacecraft use authored engine and weapon hardpoints for real-time exhaust and firing effects. Those effects are generated by the web viewer; they do not add a flight animation clip to the original GLB.
Review a loop at more than one angle
Start at normal playback speed and watch several repetitions. Look at the connection between the last frame and the first, then inspect the action from the side. Wings that look natural from the front may intersect the body during a turn; feet may slide even when the upper body appears convincing.
A forward-moving walk and an in-place walk serve different purposes. The former moves through the scene; the latter leaves travel to the game or presentation. Select the clip that matches your intended use before adjusting the camera.
- Watch the complete clip without moving the camera.
- Inspect joints and contact points from a side view.
- Check the loop boundary and any translation of the root.
- Export a copy and replay it in the destination application.
Generated motion still needs creative review
Workshop offers connected AI animation workflows as well as local clip review. A motion request describes an intention; it does not guarantee a clean rig, believable weight or a production-ready result. Shape, topology and the original pose all affect the outcome.
Keep the previous version while trying an alternative. Compare the movement against the purpose of the shot: a short promotional wingbeat can work even when a long traversal animation would need further cleanup in a specialist tool.
Choose a presentation that supports the action
Leave room for extremities at the widest pose. A crop that fits folded wings may cut them off a moment later. Keep enough background contrast to see the outline, and avoid combining a fast camera orbit with a complex movement.
For a useful product demonstration, show one action clearly, then give the viewer control. A pause button and an orbit control help someone inspect the actual asset instead of watching a loop they cannot examine.
